FOC 9-14-2026: Wonder Woman, Hulk, Rachel Rising & More
This week's Final Order Cutoff (FOC) for September 14, 2026 has a little bit of everything, but the collector editions are once again doing their best to turn “I need another bookshelf” from a joke into a legitimate home-improvement project.
DC has one of the biggest books of the week with Wonder Woman: Dead Earth: Absolute Edition, giving Daniel Warren Johnson’s post-apocalyptic Black Label series the oversized treatment. The original four-issue series was already built around enormous, kinetic artwork, so an Absolute Edition feels less like an unnecessary upgrade and more like somebody finally putting the pages at their natural size. It doesn’t arrive until April 2027, which at least gives you several months to determine where exactly this thing is going to live.
Marvel answers with The Incredible Hulk Omnibus Vol. 4, collecting Incredible Hulk #171-209 and related material from a pretty eventful stretch of Hulk history. Abomination. Juggernaut. Wolverine’s first appearance. Just a few things happened. There’s also Thor Modern Era Epic Collection: Fear Itself, Star Wars: Darth Vader Modern Era Epic Collection — The Chosen One, and Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral, while Punisher Vol. 1: The Jigsaw Agenda kicks off Frank Castle’s latest run. Marvel remains committed to ensuring nobody accidentally finishes collecting anything.
DC’s more affordable end of the shelf gets two particularly good additions with Justice League: Origin and Mister Miracle joining the DC Compact Comics line. Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s New 52 Justice League launch is an obvious fit for an accessible edition, while Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ Mister Miracle puts the complete 12-issue series into a format that’s considerably easier to hand someone than a giant deluxe hardcover. Sometimes smaller books are good. Please do not tell the omnibus collectors I said that.
Dark Horse has several strong collector releases of its own. The Complete Rachel Rising puts Terry Moore’s entire supernatural series into one oversized hardcover, including the previously uncollected issue #0, while Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Last Wish — The Complete Collection gathers the graphic adaptations into another oversized hardcover with a new adaptation of “The Voice of Reason.” The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service: Book Six Omnibus also continues one of manga’s stranger long-running collections, which is saying something.
BOOM! has a surprisingly deep lineup this week. The Expanse Omnibus pulls together Origins, the original four-issue series, and Dragon Tooth into one substantial collection, while Something Is Killing the Children Vol. 10 reaches issues #46-50 and the conclusion of Erica Slaughter’s formative-years storyline. Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon & Other Tales collects three of BOOM!’s original graphic novels, and Wynd Book Five: The Way of the World brings the fantasy saga to its finale in both hardcover and paperback.
IDW, meanwhile, has apparently chosen monsters as a general theme. Godzilla Library Collection Vol. 7 continues the kaiju archive with Rage Across Time, Godzilla Rivals, and Here There Be Dragons, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Booyakasha Books Vol. 2 collects more material from the 2012 animated-series era. Dark Spaces Casebook bundles four crime/horror graphic novels curated by Scott Snyder into one volume. Godzilla, mutant turtles, and crime horror. A perfectly normal publishing week.
There are a few other books worth a look, including DC Finest: Swamp Thing — The Man Who Would Not Die, collecting the early Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson era; Mark Millar and Matteo Scalera’s King of Spies; Predator: Bloodshed, which drops a Predator into an underground martial-arts tournament because apparently somebody finally realized those two concepts should meet; and The Perfectly Monstrous Life of Adam Frankenstein from James Tynion IV’s Christopher Chaos universe.
Short version: the premium books are the big story again this week, with Wonder Woman: Dead Earth, Hulk, Rachel Rising, The Witcher, and The Expanse all competing for a fairly significant amount of shelf real estate. But there are also some genuinely good lower-cost collections here, especially the two DC Compact editions, if your collecting strategy does not currently involve reinforcing the floor.
Pre-order before FOC on September 14, 2026 to make sure your copies are accounted for. “I’ll grab it when it comes out” remains a completely reasonable plan right up until everyone else had the same plan first.
