FOC 05-11-2026: Absolute Batman, Triangle Era Omnibus & Key Pre-Orders

This week’s FOC (Final Order Cutoff: 5/11/26) is a big one — and very much a format-driven week.

If you care about shelf presence, this is where most of your decisions get made. Absolutes, omnibuses, deluxe hardcovers — the kind of books you buy once and then reorganize your shelf around later.

At the top, Absolute Batman Incorporated (New Edition) is the obvious centerpiece. Morrison’s run in oversized format, back in print, and exactly the kind of book people realize they want after it disappears again. Right next to it, Superman: The Triangle Era Omnibus Vol. 3 and Wonder Woman: The Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 3 continue two long-running lines that are very much “finish the set or regret it later.”

There’s also a strong showing from premium non-superhero formats. Appleseed Deluxe Edition is built to be displayed — oversized, restored, and loaded with extras — while The Art of Star Trek & Defiant hits that same collector/art-book audience from a completely different angle.

On the more accessible side, this week quietly does a lot of work. Aquaman by Geoff Johns Book One and Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 1 are both clean entry points into modern DC runs, while DC Finest: Hard Traveling Heroes brings back one of the most important Green Lantern/Green Arrow runs in a format that’s easy to recommend.

Marvel leans into steady, reliable collections — Ultimate Spider-Man by Jonathan Hickman Vol. 4, Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone Vol. 4, and Avengers by Jed MacKay Vol. 6 all continue current runs that are building momentum, while X-Men: Age of Krakoa by Kieron Gillen Omnibus is the long-term play for anyone tracking that era.

Outside of the usual lanes, there are a couple of quieter standouts. Mary Sue brings a fun, meta YA angle from BOOM!Box, while The Witcher: The Last Wish and The Last Human in a Crowded Galaxy add some strong genre variety in both hardcover and trade.

Release windows stretch from mid-summer into late 2026, so this is the planning window. Absolute editions, omnibuses, and deluxe hardcovers tend to be the first to tighten up once they land — and not all of them get easy second printings.

Short version: this is a “buy it in the format you actually want” week.

Because upgrading later is always more expensive — and slightly more annoying.
