Comic fans, if you're looking for the hottest books in town, it's FOC July 27th. This list has everything: omnibuses, deluxe hardcovers, immortal warriors, haunted fishing villages, mutant turtles fused with kaiju, and a baby monster that may or may not end civilization.
This week's lineup was designed by the guy who asks, "What if we made the book bigger?" and the answer was always yes. It has oversized hardcovers, collector editions, fold-out art, afterwords, slipcase-worthy releases, and at least three books capable of causing structural damage if dropped on your foot.
Marvel is here with Ghost Rider, Gwenpool, Blade, and Excalibur, while Dark Horse responds with Berserk, The Witcher, Hellboy, and Tomb Raider. It's basically Comic-Con if Comic-Con charged you by the square inch of bookshelf.
But the real jewel of the evening is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla.
What's that, you ask?
It's that thing where Leonardo combines with Godzilla, Shredder weaponizes kaiju, and everyone involved collectively decides subtlety was overrated.
